Biology 1615 Lab -BIOL 1615

    At first I was dreading this assignment because for me, reading scientific articles are very difficult. I often get caught up in the language of the article. I get so focused on the words that I do not understand, or the wording or structure of the article that I miss the intended topic of the article all together. This assignment helped me take a different approach at reading a scientific article, in that I was summarizing the article instead of trying to find bits and pieces that I could use for a research paper.

     Using an outline for pulling information out was a great tool. I could focus section by section, paragraph by paragraph instead of trying to tackle the entire article head on. This really helped me digest the article. I could easily break the article down for information, organize the information and reference back to the information for further use. This will help me in future schooling because I will take research papers and break them down into an outline. This way I can take the information I need and not have to search article after article for the information that I need. I was able to acquire substantive knowledge and was able to think critically for the approach of this assignment. This was a great assignment.
